It looks as if Scotland and Brazil are set to play an international friendly in London on
Sunday 27 March in Arsenal’s Emirates, the perfect venue to watch a beautiful game.
This friendly was arranged by the Scottish Football Association’s board Thursday 3rd of February. A contract with the agency looking to bring Brazil to Britain was finalized a few days later.
The Scottish team will have a five-day spell in Spain before returning to play Brazil.
Every time Scotland and Brazil meet it is a beautiful game, the Scottish, ever the under dogs, always show pluck, skill and determination, often loosing to the greatest footballing nation on Earth but always able to walk away with their heads held high.
Brazil 0-0 Scotland: In the 1974 World Cup Scotland tied 0-0 with Brazil but dominated the final stages of the match thoroughly testing Brazil’s defense. This is the closest Scotland have come to a victory over Brazil and if they had won it would have been well deserved. A classic game to watch, even though there are no goals there is plenty of skill.
Brazil 4-1 Scotland: In the 1982 World Cup Scotland scored in the first few minutes, stunning Brazil, everyone in the stadium, everyone watching at home on TV and even stunning themselves. But this goal only served to wake Brazil up who then took their game to the highest level eventually beating Scotland 4-1.
Brazil 1-0 Scotland: In the 1990 World Cup Scotland put up a great fight finishing the first half 0-0. In the second half Scotland seemed to be dealing with the Brazilian onslaught until a Brazilian strike could only be deflected by the Scottish goalkeeper right into the path of a Brazilian striker who scored from what seemed to be an impossible Angle. Scotland stayed in the fight and pushed for an equalizer narrowly missing an open goal in the dying minutes of the match.
Brazil 2-1 Scotland: In 1998 the last time these two nations met Brazil capitalized on some Scottish misfortune to win 2-1. The score line however does not reflect the game, Scotland put up a tremendous fight to come back from a Brazil early lead. The first half finished 1-1 and it was with only 17 minutes left in the game that a Brazilian shot was knocked out by the Scottish goalie only to bounce of a Scottish defender and go in the net.
Whenever Scotland face Brazil there has never been a dull moment or a boring game.
