If there’s one thing I love most about music and since becoming an Fm radio DJ Host; its meeting great artist with a fantastic message in their music as well as drive and aspiration. It’s very admirable to see that despite the world’s corruptions and oppression, there are STILL dedicated positive, active, creative artist that take full responsibility in their role in society.

They have the maturity to understand and recognise just how important their role as a musician is and the high influence they have on young people who listen and follow them in their music journey and how do I know this? Because I have had the pleasure, to pick the brains of all three here artist. Interviewing each of them finding out the truth behind their music. Meet the following artists….
Nick Javas

Nick Javas pleasantly dropped in my yahoo inbox about a month ago which was a huge surprise to me, seeing as he came all the way from New Jersey and managed to have learnt about my show all the way across seas’ in little old Bedford town.
Not only a hottie Italian stallion but also his flow and lyrical content is very much to my liking too.
What lit up my enthusiasm for this artist was how dedicated he seemed and positive about hip hop and it’s message. Nick has the kind of flow that makes you want to hear more and his conscious demeanor set a pace that is just timeless.
Understanding that music has a high role in being a kind of hypnosis in which lyrics and image do play a massive role in kids lives, Nick is very aware of the kind of music that he wants to put out there and also sticks to what true hip hop is all about. The impression I got from interviewing Nick Javas was that he despises the “bling” commercial scene and calls it “selfish” and we talked about artist not being aware of the impression they and particularly rappers leave (check out Material girl on youtube) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nNGQiHAKn9s with those who listen to it and its strong influence on the attitude of today’s society and its values.
Nick’s music is inspiring in that the messages are generally positive and clear straight to the point with metaphoric clever rhyme wording and some humour.
With his mixtape entitled, Detour, which dropped May 27th, the New Jersey native is another young star that is making his dreams reality! Hard Work, dedication and commitment are just a few of the characteristics that describe Nick, and passion is a key element in his formula for success. “When I finished college, I just went into the studio hard! I started doing shows and when I felt like I had a strong demo, with me Being out in New York, I made sure that I was at all of the industry events. I eventually ran into DJ Premiere, who took a liking to me and my music. He was starting a new record label called Year Round Records at the time, and that’s where it all Began”. Nick admits, however, that music was not his first love. “I have always Been a hip hop fan but not necessarily a hip hop artist. When my athletic career was cut short due to a knee injury, I found my new sport, which is writing. This was my new passion, which Became a hip hop career.” And what a career it is turning in to be!
Outside of blazing the stage, Javas’ writing skills paid off when he was asked to perform his rhymes for the NFL. “I started this week one of the 2010 NFL season. What I did was I wrote a rhyme every Sunday night, recapping the highlights of the game. It would be a lyrical highlight rhyme that I would put together over night and make a video with it. I would drop it every Monday by 8am. This got the attention of ESPN, who aired one of my episodes on Sports Nation. The NFL reached out to me, and my episodes got played at all the playoff games. I got to work with guys like Big Boi B.o.B, Lupe Fiasco, Talib Kweli, and Snoop Dogg to bring this project together.”
